Puppies...
are such a delight. The mother of these pups was too young and extremely weak. She was half a pup herself and couldn't sustain herself well enough to really take care of the pups. When my mom and brother moved into the new home, they fed the mother and pups for a few days. But unfortunately the mother didn't survive the big dogs and got bitten badly at night. She came into my the house garden and died there leaving the 3 pups behind. We got to know this only in the morning. So mom ad brother bathed and fed the pups for a few days and then we handed them over to the Blue Cross in Hyderabad.
My cousin who works with Blue Cross voluntarily had suggested to my mother to adopt an abandoned dog rather than take a new pup. When we visited the blue cross adoption center, it was the safest thing to see these lovely animals jumping and craving for a bit of affection. Their exuberance and soberness was evident. The circumstances they went through had humbled them a lot. It was even more heartening to see this huge bull mastiff whose back-legs were nonfunctional. He is probably a product of bad commercial breeding. Many dogs develop genetic disorders due to such things and it is very sad. We could not adopt Badshah as he needed a very big space and a lot of time and attention. Moreover we did not have the courage to see his pain for long, though he had got more used to it than us. We shortlisted a couple of other dogs but decided to wait before we decide and get the home settled down.
