A Room with a View
This isn't a very striking image but it is the view I get from my bathroom window.
Between two rooves I can see a patch of ground just in front of a wood on the edge of the top of the Wolds.
It isn't an ordinary patch of ground. It contains a man-made earthwork that is very likely the bank that enclosed the medieval Deer Park that was attached to the site of the Archbishop of York Palace.
Not many people know all this when they gaze up at this scene that confronts them on a sunny day like this. I suppose it is my job to tell them if only they will listen!
