The two were combined today as my daughter and her friends had their fortnightly riding lesson. Thought it would be a great opportunity for some interesting pictures but it was such a damp, dull, drizzly morning that I didn't have much luck. Missed the best shot, when these two had a nuzzle together, but just managed to catch this before we went off down the hill to the ring.

I don't think they're related but they're obviously friends and I thought it was very sweet how the older pony went over to greet the foal through the fence - perhaps he was passing on some secret snippet of horse-wisdom that we'll never know?
