Snipe

Magellanic snipe on Sea Lion Island.

In the UK (and anywhere else I've seen snipe) they are very nervous birds which will disappear off into the distance as soon as you get anywhere near them. In the Falklands the biggest problem is not treading on them - and their idea of evasive action is to jump 2 or 3 feet away and carry on doing what they were.

Makes taking photos rather less of a challenge.
