Duofel

The Duofel was formed in 1977 by the instrumentalists/composers Fernando Melo and Luiz Bueno. Self-taught musicians, they became acquainted with each other in the city of São Paulo in that year, when they were playing in the prog rock band Boissucanga.
I met them for the first time 18 years ago when I promoted Tetê Espíndola's concert in Divinópolis, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Duofel played with her and we became friends. The duo followed by performing in Brazil and abroad (at the Summerstage, in New York, NY, and at the Jazz à Vienne in Lyon, France).
Last night there was a great concert with Egberto Gismonti, another outstanding Brazilian Jazz Instrumentalist and composer and Duofel in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. After the concert I met them in the backstage and had a nice chat.
