I am not complaining
I am simply using the first 35 degree day as an excuse for slowness and lack of energy. Lack of sleep follows.
At a desperate time I went for a search of something remotely interesting and found this box on Mr H's desk. Monkeys polishing a boot with Lewis & Whitty blacking. National Trust database claims that: The former Lewis and Whitty factory is of State significance as a substantial and imposing blacking factory which served the nationally important boot and shoe industry of Collingwood/Fitzroy. Its architectural significance arises from the adoption of the Flemish gable form and Flemish bond brickwork which is unique in an industrial structure. It as also important as an example of a "noxious" industry able to operate in the midst of a dense residential area before the imposition of regulations on industry. The later association with Parson's and Lewis is also of note.
There you go.
