Gulls in a row

So there we were - waiting at the bus stop for, well, a bus as it happens. Across the road on top of a street light a small drama was taking place.

One bird would land on the middle bit, then another would come and beat it off and land in the same spot. Then another and another - like a production line of landing spots. Eventually having got tired of the game of tag or whatever it was, they decided to cut their losses and share out the perching space between them. 2, 3, 4 and then finally 5 on top of the high much prized vantage point.

Then the bus came, so I don't know how things turned out.
