A few weeks ago on the BBC2 programme Autumnwatch, the naturalist Chris Packham stated that the blackbirds, tits & finches that come to your garden now are not the ones you had in the Summer, but foreigners flown in to spend the Winter here instead. Well I'm sorry, I tend to disagree! As this is without a doubt out resident female blackbird, who with her hubby Mr Elgar, rules the roost of my garden! Minutes after I took her portrait, she flew down from the tree & sat by my feet... no foreigner would do that! Then she followed me into the garage asking for more seed, which I gave her... & no foreigner would know where the feed is! So this is 100% Mrs Elgar & what a very fine bird she is too! :)
