Scots Pine, Blairdaff, Aberdeenshire

I've been on the trail of this 'lonesome pine' ever since I started this whole 'Blip' thing. I pass it almost every day, yet up till now either the light hasn't been right, or it's been fine but there's been some reason to hurry on, or there's been someone on my tail that has made stopping to photograph it a near impossibility on this single-track road...

Anyway, today was the day.

I may even return to it another day if things look good.

This is, after all, a wonderfully weather-worn tree with plenty of what all you Bonsai enthusiasts out there would call 'Jin' and 'Shari'.
