Flash Fun

Previously, I only really used my flash to -well- flash stuff. Maybe bouncing, but nothing more. Today's photography class lesson was all about using flash and it was quite interesting. This was one of the test shots (featuring Hester, our teacher).

Anyone any thoughts on my next assignment: documentary photography?

By the way, somehow the image size is reduced in Gimp from some 18MB to 200 kb. Any thoughts?
