On this basis, perhaps a selection of welfare cheats and bogus claimants should be handed the task of setting policy on welfare benefits? You couldn't make it up.

Elsewhere across the city, the chain of events I needed to happen to ensure a good day joined up nicely and I had a great day in the brilliantly named Crutched Friars; a narrow lane off Aldgate High Street. The name appears to be something to do with an ancient sect of monks and their nether regions....I assume?

Heading home to Edinburgher this evening, it'll be good to be home.
