Blue Heron

Whoa, here we go again with another nature blip. Today is Thanksgiving here in the States. Family flew in yesterday, and I woke up knowing I'd be taking some kind of food-feast-people blip. But I looked out at the pond - must be 500 ducks of various kinds, the geese, the gulls, everything but our resident swans who probably felt crowed and took a trip. And then the heron came swooping in. I slowly crept outside and took baby steps toward it. Got to within maybe 15 meters before it felt uncomfortable and left for the far side.
