Concrete structure - flood control

There are a number of rivers running through Milton Keynes and a number of flood plains which are often controlled by barriers or sluice gates, and this image is part of one such sluice gate.

Contrary to popular belief Milton Keynes is not full of concrete buildings - the Concrete Cows have a lot to answer for! :)
