YUBI LAKPI

A Maniprui version of the Rugby : But a one-against-all!

The idea of the game is to get hold of an extremely 'oily' ball (a fully matured coconut specially massaged with heavy mustard oil) and run, if he can, towards the solitary goal - 'a throne' sitted by the 'king' and submit the ball to his 'majesty' and win the game with accolades.

Game is normally played between 15 or more players. It's one against all! Whoever got the 'ball' is in danger of being attacked by the rest of the players. He could be blocked down, wrestled away from his ball etc. etc. Is an extremely manly game requiring strength, skill, running speed, agility to avoid blockers and at the same time ability to stop or block the person carrying a ball.

Every time it is not always easy to grab hold of an extremely oily coconut and it spurts out of one's hold much to the fun and laughter of the audience and sometimes the referees too!

In more severe cases, all the players were also bathed in oil and then the play became an impossible struggle with loud laughter from everwhere!!!

Today, the game took to such a turn that, all players were piling on top of the one holding the coconut reminiscent of the 'Little Village of the Indomitable Gauls' where the crazy Gauls just fight amongst themselves just for the fun of it, in The Adventures of ASTERIX and OBELIX.Whenever they see a fight between somebody, they just come and join the fight until almost all the other villagers come and join in the chaotic fight!! And at the end of the fight nobody know why they're fighting and who started the fight at the first place!!!
