Do You Ever Dream of Me?

Our little town on the West Coast of Scotland, warmed throughout the year by the Gulf Stream got snowed on last night. It wasn't even forecast.

It's strange but I miss my dad, and my nunk more on days like this than any other day.

I look at the Sunshine. I look at the Blue Skies. I look at the ice patterns on the ground. I look at the little snow flakes clinging on to their fragile, short life, as they settle on a cold surface, only to have their beauty melted away, by the rays of the sunshine.

I think maybe the shortness of the beauty makes me think about the shortness of life.

So much to see, so much to do, and so very little time to do it all.

I think about how much someone i loved, would have thrilled to wake up to a winterwonderland, but am saddened by the fact that they will never see such a beautiful thing again. Never experience each new day that we are lucky enough to breathe.

Don't waste time worrying about the bad things in life. Open the door, get out there, get cold, and sniff hard enough to make your eyes water. Breathe in all that beautiful cold air and live your life as if there is no tomorrow.
