he can run...

This was brought to you with the numbers 3 and 5, the letter m twice, a space, the letter f, the punctuational symbol / and the number 2.

That was brought to me by Parcelforce who did manage to fuck up but only in a good way. I'd emailed them to attempt to persuade them to not try to deliver it as they'd only get it wrong and that I'd pick it up in person with lots of ID from their depot in Sighthill Industrial Estate. Being cretins they ignored this and attempted to deliver it anyway. Luckily they managed to fortuitously (yet still incorrectly) leave it for collection at a post office ten minutes from the flat rather than the stated depot (which is either twenty, fifty, sixty or ninety minutes from the flat with the aid of two, zero, four or six wheels) and only put the "tried to deliver" card two doors away and were only one post office out in the tracking information on the website. At the end of the day I got my lens with only a mild amount of stress a mere forty-eight hours after ordering it which (considering Parcelforce's involvement) is somewhat incredible.

Not had a chance to use it much as it was raining on the way home and I didn't want to get it wet without sticking something over the end first and had mistakenly picked up a multicoated Skylight 1B rather than 1A from Jessop five minutes before they shut which I'll have to exchange tomorrow but it's looking good. At least as sharp as the 60mm but with the FOV of a 50mm on full-frame but with the slight barrel distortion of a 35mm coupled with a nice fat iris and decent manualfocussability at long range. At f/2 it's sharper than the 50mm was at f/1.8 but has a little more chromatic aberration instead (much like the 60mm). The only real question is whether to spend my first lunchtime-walk with it testing it on plants and stuff alongside the river or on people around the town centre.
