Self Portrait-the only way I'd do one
One of those rare moments today when something made me want to take a photo of myself.
I caught a glimpse of my reflection in my wedding ring and thought it would be a good way to do a self portrait without the embarassment one feels when looking at a photo of your own face.
In practice it isnt that easy an image to get. Getting the light right can be awkward, the surface of the ring is a rather scratched and worn (it was my fathers wedding ring for about 40 years before I started wearing it), and trying to get ring, hand, face, camera all in the right spot is hard when they are all attached to the same person. Also kinda hard to get the camera out of the shot but still actually get a shot at all...
Anyways I decided to to try and promised myself I would blip one even if they were all bad. I tried a few different spots and contortions and chose this shot. I was quite pleased considering the "oh well lets give it a go right now" approach.
