Focused Energy

I moved yesterday, my things are still in boxes. Last night I could not sleep. I had the components of sleep lined up, bed, pillow, exhaustion....but I couldn't sleep.

So, at four in the morning, I did the only thing I could think of to calm my chaotic energy. I set up my altar. I am Pagan, drawing heavily from Wiccan and Druidic ways and beliefs. My altar is the focal point of my energy, set up in the corner of my room closest to my elements direction(East) and facing North.

My room is almost perfectly coordinated with the directions, flat against the wall, the altar is only 8 degrees off of true north.

Taking down an altar is a very spiritually taxing event. Setting it up gives you a charge. My energies focused and I found clarity I had lost this past week.

I released my excess energy, cried a bit over something I had been holding back, and went to sleep.

My altar has always been the focus of my energy, my grounding place and my sanctuary.

It does change as my needs change, but, for now, it has exactly what I need on it and by it.
