Cool
I think a visit to the hairdressers and away from Mama's makeshift scissors wouldn't go amiss. I was wondering at what point he transitioned from rock star cool curls, you know, Jonas Bros, to scruffy. I think we're there. Although it does have volume.
Sorry Reuben.
Reu really has some otherwordly loveliness to him. When he's not cracking jokes in sign (his first language, but he's bilingual), he'll speak a few, but really, this is Reu's studied aura, his measured grace, his quiet gentleness and observation of everything that goes on around him in the hearing world. With his giddy drunken-sailor balance, and sixteen surgeries under his slim belt, I cannot help but hold him in awe.
Potty training continues in the house, about 90 minutes of it this morning with success for both boys. And then off they went to the aquarium whilst I battled with my overburdened iMac. This ultra quickly captured before the sun went down. I know I can't complain about the cold, but it's cool for here.
Settling Reuben into bed this evening after watching Signing Time downstairs, helping Callum form some new signs, I had one of my silent conversations with Reuben where I communicate entirely in sign. I'm not sure if my motive is to improve his lip reading skills (which are great) or to improve his receptive skills in watching sign, but I feel it's more to do with having a very private conversation, silently signing songs to my boy, our own secret language. But there was no holds barred on vocalising a big laugh from Reuben when I signed "The baby Callum on the bus says wa wa wa".
