Journies at home

Into Oblivion

I spent the morning trying to dodge hunters who had taken up thier posts along the best paths. Blod and I walked the little roads for a couple of kilometers, and then got fed up, and veered off up this track. I had only ever taken this path once before, in a snow storm when everything looked different, and couldn't remember what was over the brow of the hill.
More hunters were.
Luckily one of them was Dede, who had found a good spot in the sun and was drinking tepid coffee out of a pill bottle. His dogs had gone quiet, so he slung his gun on his back and we caught up with the gossip for half an hour.
