Baltic...
...apart from being a sea, is a term we use in Belfast to describe the weather. This is used when it is particularly cool, as in "Hey Mister, it's freeakin' BALTIC out there!"
Well, this evening it was freeakin' Baltic down at Ballyholme Bay where I was having another go at taking a Blip. My first efforts, on my way home from work, were wasted.
-2°, with a windchill factor of "Oh Bloooody Hell!" meant that it wasn't very enjoyable, especially as I was experimenting again with the Bulb setting on my camera.
This shot is of the multicoloured houses in Ballyholme Bay, which, in daylight, would remind you of Balamory. The crappy yellow street lights at night ruin most things photographic so I have gone for the B&W option.
My runner up is a Bulb shot into the darkness towards a ship at anchor in Belfast Lough. The Bulb setting opens the shutter as long as you hold the button down and what light there is, is gathered at a high f-stop. In this shot you can see a green and a red buoy as well as a groyne and the lighthouse across the mouth of the bay.
