Bedford Pedestrian Area

In the spirit of posting something a bit different, the beautiful blue sky, and the joys of Christmas shopping I've decided to post this rather hackneyed view of Bedford's pedestrian area.

We have a rather extensive pedestrianised area in Bedford, but rather than make do with it to stage our annual Christmas Fayre our beloved Borough Council have decided to shut the A6 Trunk Road (which runs down our High Street) for 4 days! I am reliably informed that there is a 9 mile diversion which is sure to ensure every motorist wanting to use this section of road during this time will be filled with Christmas cheer as they sit in the inevitable traffic jams burning expensive fuel
