In spring a young dragonfly's fancy turns to love?

It's all go down at the swamp today, with lots of dragonflies paired up and females getting ready to lay eggs.

These two are in tandem, have been flying and are now resting on a leaf. apparently they can stay like this for some time, even after the eggs are fertilised.

Not sure what sort of dragonflies these are! Or even if they are dragonflies - they could be damselflies!!

I liked the red, green and yellow colours.

I would like to have got closer but when I stepped carefully off the bridge, the ground was too soft!
