Maungawhau Trig Station
Maungawhau (also known as Mount Eden) is a local volcanic cone, which at 196m is the highest of the cones on the Auckland isthmus, hence the trig station. Like all of the monogenetic volcanoes in the Auckland region it is most unlikely to ever be active again, and instead its activity presently is from its numerous human visitors. During the day most of the visitors are non local tourists, coming for the panoramic views over the city in all directions. At 6:30 am, we come for exercise; many jog and even more walk. Some run earnestly.
The other photo I considered putting up was of a jogger and a runner. I chose this one because the majority walk as did this person, who undoubtedly (when not descending a few steps) revelled as in the early morning light.
