Playing with fire.

The restaurant we had lunch at yesterday had two lovely comfy sofas next to a beautiful, roaring, real log fire. Having already 'blipped' for the day I didn't bring my camera but wished I could have had a go at a fire shot. After all, it would have been fun playing around with exposures and shutter speeds.

All was not lost, though. Last year, Sky TV put up a 'Cosy Christmas Log Fire', which was a 10-minute film of - well - a log fire, complete with authentic crackling sounds. Not ever having lit the wood-burning stove that came with our house, we saved it and had great (if childish!) fun putting it on whenever anyone came round and seeing how long it took them to notice it wasn't real.

It looks much better in real life and I'd swear it actually warms up the room.
