Some of us have to go to work . . . . !

My first day of (very early!) retirement but instead of having a long lie I was out blipping! My brave man got all his warm and cosy layers on and after de-snowing and de-icing his van he was away, into the snowy waste land! Due to the weather there were no planes bringing post into the islands, but Saturday's had come in by boat and there was all the local stuff.

Lots of little birds around, on and under the bird table. Greenfinches as well as sparrows and starlings, red wings, a black cap, wrens and a robin. Also the rat is still in evidence - lots of little footprints in the snow! It's amazing how many paw prints there are in the fresh snow - the village must be a busy place when the humans are abed!
