Badger's Skull

Found this when walking in woodlands in Somerset last month. Brought it home and boiled it in bleach for quite a long time ... quite an awesome find, in a sad kind of way!

And now, it's inspired a children's poem :

Badger Skull

My father used to tell me, "Go and boil your head!?
(It's not a good idea or you'd end up dead)
But when I found a badger's skull, lying in the grass
In the middle of the woodlands, I couldn't simply pass.
I picked it up, and took it home, and boiled it in a pot
With some bleach to keep it wholesome (I added quite a lot!)

Poor old badger, I've preserved your bony head,
It's safe enough to boil it when you're already dead.
