some things never change
Ten years ago the queue at the Whistler Canada Post was this long. It still is.
Took a day off to coincide with my friend Jilly Jo Jive (on the left) and partner Mark's days off and generally hung out in the rain having a look at our old stomping ground. Whistler has changed in ten years and it hasn't changed a bit.
Wandered along remembering things I has forgotten. The toy shop where Dr Lizi's first engagement ring came from is still there. So is our little cupboard of an apartment where I proposed with its 100-odd slippery wooden steps but magical closeness to the Gondola. A van was parked covered in snow exactly where our one* became buried once we could no longer open the doors or safely drive it on its bald tires - I can't remember which came first.
*A white 1976 Chevy van with blue shagpile and Tijuana vinyl interior, Scooby Doo style side windows, 3rd captains seat in the centre behind the engine. Beautiful.
