Night Race

Every few months Alfie and I get his Scalextric out, for those who are unfamiliar with Scalextric, it is slot car racing and, it seems every encounter I have with it is fraught with maladies of an electrical connectivity nature.

It takes about 20 minutes to design a track then another hour of faffing about to get it all working. Then, every day it is played, another 10 minutes will pass as I shove a screwdriver into random parts of the track in the vain hope that it will work before Alfie gets bored and reverts to his Playstation.

So, then it works and then we being a race of epic proportions, generally lasting at least 50 laps they are titanic battles, actually they generally end in a small boy copping a bit of a strop on the rare occasion I win. He was so bad this evening I ended up calling him Dick Dastardly which seemed to make his mood even worse. Oh well no one said being a parent was easy ;)

This might be slightly better large then again maybe not !
