A Red Head on Mission
Andrew and I took a walk through the park this morning and were delighted to spot many different kinds of birds; robins nipping at berries, ducks digging their bills under the leaves in search for bugs, geese chopping on grass, loons -with their ghostly stare- sliding across the wavering pond. But of them all we enjoyed watching this woodpecker jack-hammer into an old cedar tree. She was low on the tree and her attention to finding food didn't falter because of our presence, or that of the passing car or the man walking the golden retriever.
We were amazed at, what looked like, the 360 degree angle at which she turned her head to extract her meal.
Thanks for taking a look....have a wonderful day!
