The darling bud of November....

I was looking for a fairly quick blip this morning,as I knew I wasn't likely to have much time later on - thanks to a report deadline and a visit to Pete's Mum this afternoon.

As I was wandering round the garden, I came across this perfect rose bud, with a glassy hat of melting snow. I was struck by the contrast between summer and winter, hope and adversity...So, this was my choice for today.

PS This is just as it came out of the camera, no processing at all! Probably best seen large.
