Snowy lion's head

This lion graced the former army barracks in Berchem (area of Antwerp, where we live). The barracks were torn down to make way for the Antwerp ring motorway in 1966.
The two lion heads (this one and another one on the other side of the road) now stand alongside the main raid into Berchem. We cycle past them every day on our way to and from school.

Had a hard day's work to prepare my 2nd physics lesson (a demonstration and creating a melting curve, followed by the theory). I then had to be at uni at 6pm to hear a 3 hour long lecture on school inspections in Flanders (beware, there is no Belgian school system, it is divided along the language barrier). I skipped class during the 10 min break...
