Castillo de San Marcos

The Castillo was the moativation for this fortuitous image while walking to my car late at night after nearly finishing the new Pirate and Treasure Museum opening in St. Augustine on Friday. Across the street from the Museum is Fort Marion as it is also known.

Louis Comfort Tiffany painted a similar composition of the Castillo after returning from a painting trip to North Africa. The paintings he made there are long elegant works filled with duning sand, palms and ancient fortifications.
