cold wedding day

it seems to be a tradition on this lakeshore for asian couples to come fully rigged on their wedding day to pose for photos on the rocks or on the bridge, regardless of the weather. no idea why. wife says water is good luck. what do you think?

these folks were out for more than 30 minutes in -5C weather. when it was over, they did not look too happy. does this look like a lucky moment? what do you think?
