Embarrassment!

It's always good to be reminded where your roots lie, and today I had my Chemist hat on again. I wear it from time to time in my role as the Younger Members' Representative for the Royal Society of Chemistry Northern Ireland section. Today I was off to Manchester for the first ever Younger Members' Symposium, where I was chairing one of the conference sessions.

I arrived slightly later than planned and headed off to the conference room where my session would be taking place. The invited speakers were already there, as well as some audience members. One of the other organisers saw me come in and introduced me to everyone, so all eyes were on me as I strode purposefully across the front of the room, got my laces tangled in the eyelets of my boots and went sprawling flat on my face! :O

Slightly embarrassing!! lol

But I picked myself up, tried to laugh it off and got on with being the responsible and not-at-all-slapstick conference chair. I don't think they were buying it :D
