Bletted!

We're still the only school open for miles and today ten children skidded in - up one since yesterday. In my room we had three adults and five children - the amount of work we got through was impressive. This afternoon the 'whole' school was going to watch The Snowman - we were amazed to find that none of the children had seen it - surely it's been on every Christmas since the year dot.

A brisk walk and returned ruddy cheeked and glowing and determined to find something other than snow to blip - though most astonishing, the edges of the sea at the little beach were frozen - positively Baltic! I remembered the medlars put away in the dark several weeks ago and left to blet. On investigation they looked suitably rotten :( In the interests of blip I tried one. Well, not terribly exciting I'm afraid - mushy like a puree but tasting a bit like a very dull custard, and it was full of big pips. Not a madly exciting image, more a curiosity. I now have a box of rotten medlars - may be I'll try medlar cheese but it looks like a lot of effort.

Tomorrow's forecast is interesting : -6 and raining - is that technically possible???

Edit: check the link if you're totally confused as to what you're looking at - there's a before pic :)
