Post & Chain
The last full day of my sojourn on Cape Cod. It really is a beautiful part of the world. Even allowing for the cold winters, I think I would be quite happy living there. I like the proximity of the ocean, the reminders of England and the people I met on my photographic walks were friendly.
My wife accompanied me today. We had intended to go and find Sandy Neck lighthouse but when we realized it involved a six-mile walk, it was a case of sod that for a game of soldiers, as the British say.
The six-mile beach is backed by dunes and the trails going through them are hard work because of the soft sand. We passed an hour or so before deciding to sample the delights of Barnstaple Village. My wife had spotted a nice looking coffee shop on the way to our destination.
A cup of fresh coffee seemed like an excellent idea.
Before heading to our caffeine rendezvous, I spotted this post and chain. I guess I was preparing myself for the subject matter back in Riverside.
