Before I got to the meeting this morning, I managed to have a quick walk to York Minster in the snow, which looked very pretty, and then walked through a few of the quaint little shopping streets, hurridly being swept of the overnight snow before the tourists arrive.
The meeting was held in Kings Manor in the centre of York, one of the University buildings which was very picturesque in the snow. After a morning of other speakers, I delivered my short presentation after lunch, then set off back to the station to attempt the journey home. I was quite lucky with the trains - it only took me an hour longer than expected - and have arrived home safe and sound, although there is a lot more snow on the ground here than there was when I left yesterday.
I have also found out that the campus where I work is closed tomorrow, so I don't have to make the journey into work. That was a nice surprise! I can get on with getting the kitchen finished tomorrow - after the obligatory lie-in!
