Date Night
Mr. Fun picked me up at the campus late this afternoon (my car is still in the shop). We stopped home for a few minutes, and as the sun was taking its final bow, we took a walk through the neighborhood to photograph the holiday lights.
All the decorations and the amazing arrangements of yard ornaments are fun to see. Every yard is different, and in our neighborhood more and more yards are beginning to light up.
So after our walk, we got in the car and drove west into Orange County to have dinner together -- just the two of us . . . reconnecting, comparing notes on our day and even on our yesterday. It's been a full week (aren't they all?).
Today Mr. Fun stopped by his mom's house to have her read and record a Hallmark book with him so the book can be sent to little Tristan.
So when I got in the car at the campus, he handed me the book and the two of us sat quietly as I turned the pages and listened to the voice of Tristan's Great-Great-Grammie Fun and Tristan's Great Grandpa Fun. These little books are over priced, but priceless. I recommend them highly. I wish I had my Grammie Teele's voice recorded or my mom's voice or my dad's voice.
The fire is warming the family room now and the evening is getting later, so I'm going to wish everyone a wonderful Friday.
Good night from Southern California.
