Keeping warm..

The view from the back window this morning - so not much change as you can see. But I have been observing this chap closely over the last few days. This is the house across the road and I am guessing that the chimney there is the one that leads from the central heating boiler.

He parks up there - and defends his throne from all comers! Hours on end!

With the temperature here -13.7C overnight, and with a nice warm draught being delivered to just where it would be most welcome, who can blame him?

Yesterday, in the milky sky, a skein of geese numbering well over 100 flew over in perfect formation! What stamina these birds have - thousands of miles and losing large proportions of their body weights on the journey. And possibly shot at when they settle!
