Black and white bird

Still got the cold, so not allowed out!SHMBO say I have to stay indoors. So once again a shot through the window at unsuspecting birds! This has been a regular visitor the last few days, but has always been too far away for a photo. However , got him today! Questions are, how did he get his white head, and were his brothers and sisters the same?
