F.R.E.E.Z.E.

Woke up to frozen taps this morning. I really feel that someone is having a blippin laugh just now. I can deal with the snow, I can't deal with the snow, my parents, Birthdays, Christmas (why must it snow at Christmas?), and parties.

These last few days should have seen things in Queensferry quieten down, and whilst we have temporarily dealt with half the situation, the other half is truly having a laugh. Dad is sleeping better so mum should get some well deserved rest, but instead the smoke alarm starts beeping intermittently at 5am, then when she finally gets up she realises her boiler has packed in! I really am feeling somewhat stretched - which is great for the waistline but not my mental state!

So I'm trudging up and down the local high street, trying to carry as much food as I can each trip in order to make sure that despite all around, my girl WILL have a fabulous birthday tomorrow. She has taken everything on with a smile and keeps telling me its ok, but its not. She needs rewarded for all her loveliness. Whilst doing this, I am of course aware that the temperature is plummeting and that my parents are freezing. Worry Worry Worry!

Spent the afternoon preparing the Mexican feast for the teenagers, who will undoubtedly appreciate my efforts. Delegated the cake to my sister and neice, who are a million times better than me at cakes and there is an oven which consistenly works in their house. Only drink and that needs the sleigh to come help me carry it.

Just been interrupted by the good news that the gas man has been and heating is restored. Neighbours have finally realised they have vulnerable people on their doorstep and flocked to assist.

So I start with a rant, and what a rant, and finish with a tear in my eye and a smile on my face. Christmas, Birthdays? Bring them on,

Sixteen years ago, I was in a labour ward, behaving with respect for those around and decorum of the highest order and still the little darling was staying put - Don't push yet dear!

Oh and one last mention of Jaws the previously blipped snowman. He has entered the festive/party spirit and is in the garden doing some magnificnet limbo moves - Are ja feelin Hot Hot HOT!
