Twinkle

When we lived on mainland Scotland we would get our tree the weekend before christmas. We would wander along the road to a farm where the guy grew them himself. He had some cut but if you were wanting one of a particular size that he didn't have already cut you could go into the woods and choose your own.

In Orkney the trees are all shipped in. There tends to be a bit of a frenzy a couple of weeks before christmas and if you leave it too late you'll end up with a twisted stick with a few needles glued back on.

We managed to find the perfect specimen and spent today hiding it behind a mis-mash of glittery objects and twinkley lights. And it looks very pleased with itself.
