the irony of the favelas is that they are actually located in the most amazing real estate in all of Brazil. in any other part of the world, ocean front property, breathtaking vistas, and incredible terrain would be home to the rich and famous. in brasil, it's home to the opposite. i am fascinated with favelas...

everything about this shot was luck. i happened to be in the front seat. we happened to take the long way home. there happened to be traffic at this very moment to slow the car down.
