Opposites Attract.
S. and I are seemingly incompatible in many ways, and this comes to the fore when we go Christmas shopping.
Her tactic is to think ahead, plan a route (that mischieviously seems to involve several shoe shops), find all the presents in the shops that her earlier reconnaissance missions had pinpointed, confirm the price is in line with that which was researched in great detail some weeks previously, then buy them.
I, on the other hand, get off the bus, wander vaguely around (much like Godfrey in the opening credits of 'Dad's Army'), stumble haphazardly upon esoteric items I think people might like and then go for a pint in front of the roaring fire in Milne's pub.
We don't often go shopping together.
