Christmas Bulb Filament

In my ongoing quest to produce ultra-macro images on a DIY budget, I have started construction on an inexpensive macro extension tube for extreme close-up photos.

The first test late last night (and early AM this morning) was of the filament inside a small Christmas light. The filament is about 2mm long.

The exposure was as follows:
- 1/1000sec @ f/2.8
- ISO 100
- Fill flash on High-Speed sync

Shot on a Canon EOS 7D with a 28 inch DIY extension tube and a Canon 100mm f/2.8L macro lens.

Some refinements are needed, but I post more images later.
