Day 3.

Rule #4 A pair of Speedos will only get you so far

So, it was time to take an inventory of what I did actually have in my hand luggage that could be useful, given that our luggage was still somewhere between uk and Brazil. Not a lot , as made clear in the above photo, this was about it!. Sure I did have my new pair of speedos - very fetching I am sure you will agree (and some flipflops I managed to get in the airport when we knew our luggage was not with us), but I also had a (by now) very smelly T-shirt. And, on top of that, I had a bad stomach - all that rubbish food travelling I expect, plus being really tried - so I had to spend the day in bed quietly suffering (as only a man can) and missing out on all the fantastic food. Still, the acclimatisation phase is all part of the experience of coming somewhere very different and a long distance away, that's why we come out for more than a week!.
