First and most importantly, thanks to everyone who commented yesterday. I'll get back to you eventually, probably on your own blogs. :)
This is being posted as my 200th blip. In order of taking, it's probably 205 or so, since I have some undeveloped film from November. But I'll celebrate today and be done with it. :)
This was a good blipday for me - aside from the picture above, I took three rejects that, while not superb or anything, I would have been happy to blip any day. And beside that, I visualized the final form for each before I pressed the shutter. That was the cool part, feeling like I was thinking like a photographer. (1, 2, 3 from best to least best :))
Never having formally studied photography, I sometimes think of myself as a photography student anyway, going through a program of my own creation. My freshman year was about 3-4 years ago when I shot all that film. I was shooting thoughtlessly, learning technical skills and seeing how things look in pictures, but not really considering things. My sophomore year was about 2 years ago when I got a dslr and started paying more attention, trying to improve. This, I think, is my junior year, which started late last winter when something (I don't know what) inspired me to start taking more pictures. In May, I came here and gained a number of additional professors and fellow students at the same time. It's been a good year, and I've really thought about what I'm doing, taken on a few projects and failed at them, and taken on a few that have worked out well.
Well, in December and maybe some of January I'm taking a bit of a winter break, and I'm going to keep taking pictures but try not to think about it much. I can only expect that will be good for me. I certainly didn't think about this one!
Well, I don't mean to be so chatty - thank you for sitting through it all, and I expect that my posts will shortly become terse - if I don't think, I won't have anything to say!
