La Albufera at dusk

La Albufera is a large inland lagoon a few km south of Valencia city that covers an area of 21,120 hectares. It is a major stopping off point for migrating birds each year as well as a huge abundance of other wildlife. It is a protected area for wildlife and natural beauty.

Today is holiday in Spain and we went on a little trip. It was really warm for December: over 24 degrees and T shirt weather. I spoke to a mate in Oslo last night and he told me it was minus 17 where he was and desperately cold.

There were quite a few people out and about on the nearby beaches sunbathing and even swimming in the sea. We found some really nice out of the way places and walks to come back to in the future.
