Before the rush

I went up to West Mountain in Glens Falls, NY with my friend to apply for winter jobs today.  I've never seen the mountain with no snow on it, at least not from closer than the highway. I took a moment to appreciate the beauty and serenity of the moment - the empty parking lot, the absence of screaming children on the bunny hill, the chair lifts silent & stationary .... Just a few short weeks & one or two massive snow storms & it'll be time to hit the slopes!!!
